Property Management

The Property Management Fund of the National Farm Workers Service Center, Inc. (NFWSC) ensures residents of its communities have a decent place to live that is clean, safe and well maintained. It guarantees major community amenities such as swimming pools and playgrounds are properly kept. That means asset management and preventative maintenance are high priorities. So is ensuring adequate operating reserves for future needs so roofs, heating and air conditioning systems and paved parking lots can all be replaced at appropriate junctures. Because funding sources frequently include government programs, the property management team also sees to it that all requirements are observed and there is full compliance with all public reporting demands.

State-of-the-art property management software is used to manage the daily affairs of each community. Property Management has on-going training of office and maintenance staff to continuously provide quality services to residents.

Adopting a holistic approach to building healthy communities means each of NFWSC’s affordable housing developments offers its working families and seniors on-site community programs and services as well as special facilities and amenities. Such service opportunities are often in short supply for the people who need them the most due to cultural, language and transportation hurdles.

Among the on-site services at NFWSC communities are after-school programs, computer labs, mentoring and homework assistance projects, nature exploration, English-as-a-second language and higher education classes, advocacy, leadership training and healthy aging initiatives for seniors. The qualified staff at our developments work in collaboration with public agencies and volunteer programs that aid residents.

NFWSC communities do more than offer a quality environment in which to live. They strengthen neighborhoods and help Latinos, other working people and seniors improve their quality of life and break the cycle of poverty.
